Yes, indeed, many started on open rinks. Yes, and our training in childhood, as a rule, took place on open ice. It was very rare that we get artificial ice. Your generation was much more complicated at the beginning of the career - a lack of artificial ice, equipment. Did this give hardening? I think yes. When there are certain difficulties, you have something to strive for. I’m looking at a new generation now-the guys have everything, they rarely force themselves to do something through “I can’t”.

Is the current youth only interferes with the fact that all conditions are created for the guys? No, I do not think it interferes. On the contrary, it should help - when you have good equipment, you have the opportunity to avoid some injuries. Training in good conditions is also great. Just people perceive it for granted, but you need to understand that before everything was different.

But many, even Zhenya Kuznetsov, managed to practice in other conditions. What was the most difficult for you at the beginning of your career? At the beginning of his career ... I think it was the most difficult thing to learn to ride well. Skating is the basics for beginner hockey players, and good skating is a big plus for further career. Everything suited me in Russia, so there was no point in going beyond the ocean you played at the Youth World Cup in the year.

What is the most remembered? Yes, played. There were many emotions. We showed not so beautiful and competent hockey, but we had a lot of desire. Remember your NHL draft? What were the emotions, what did you feel? The procedure was traditional - they put tables in the stadium, each club takes a place in front of the stage. There is nothing particularly interesting there.

The most exciting is the expectation of the first, second and third round, and then everything becomes calmer. Why didn't you want to go to America? At that moment, when I was called to Kalgary, I did not go. And then the leadership changed in this club, and the new managers did not treat the Russians very well. And there was no desire to try your strength there?

Don't even know. Everything suited me here, besides, a family and children appeared - what was the point of going there? There have not been a lot of different awards in your piggy bank about the coaching career. Which one has become the most important, memorable? Probably the most memorable reward was the Cup, won with the Omsk Vanguard. We went to this for a very long time, for a long time we could not achieve this result.

We played several times in the final, where we lost Magnitogorsk. This was not my first gold, but in Dynamo I was a young hockey player and did not play an important role in the team. That success was the merit of older guys. And, despite the fact that hockey is a team game, my contribution was small then. And where does such a concept like a “cup fighter” come from? I think that in the season everything holds on the fact that if you have lost today, tomorrow you can correct the situation.

And at the cup stage, each match can be the last. That is, in general, the last in the season - lost, flew out and that’s all, free. This is the whole difference. For a long career, you managed to change only four clubs. Is constancy a sign of skill? I do not like to jump from place to place. My attitude is that it is better even to lose a little in money, but to be where everyone knows where I know everyone.

I am so comfortable. Today it is a rarity. As a rule, players often move from club to club. Where does this trend come from? A lot of factors play a role here. Firstly, the monetary component. Secondly, you can get, so to speak, not to that coach. If the mentor sees you and your role in the team is not the way you see, you get little game time, you have dissatisfaction, you try to change something.

Many hockey players are changing the club in order to play. Now the Tractor has many young players. You have always raised youth, and now I have also received a captain's strip. Do you often make tips and comments to the guys? I can’t say that I bring them up. Yes, I can tell somewhere, somewhere to shout at the guys if they do not understand the first time. But there is no such thing that I say something after each shift.

In our business, everyone must concentrate on the game, perform all elements of hockey at the highest level. After all, how should the youth listen to you if you are “waging Vanka”, and not surrender to the game?In this case, the same young hockey player may well ask - why are you teaching me, but do you do nothing? So, if you give advice, then in breaks. Didn't you think about the coaching career?

Not yet. In my opinion, this is a difficult profession, very exhausting, a lot of nerves in this work are spent. It’s hard to restrain yourself in a fit of emotions. It is always easier when close nearby you grew up in Moscow, spent many years in Omsk, now for the third year you have been playing in Chelyabinsk. Which city do you consider to be relatives, and where would you like to live after a career?

I live in Moscow.

There I grew up, everything suits me there. Yes, most of my time I spent in Omsk, where everything became my native for me too, there are many friends in this city. But still, the house is a house. As far as you know, are you fond of hunting? As far as possible. It all started in Omsk: my close friend planted this matter. He has his own lands, took me there once - I liked it.

What else does Dmitry Ryabykin do in his free time? Family and children - son and two daughters. How demanding are you? Mom, of course, scares my children. But I can say that if they obey, then I am a good dad, and if not, then everything happens.
