We break stereotypes. When it comes to a healthy lifestyle, most experts talk about proper nutrition, physical activity, avoiding stress, getting rid of bad habits. The main thing in a healthy lifestyle is control. But control is not a solution. Any attempt to strictly control the habits that are considered unhealthy, only exacerbates the situation. There is no direct dependence between the traditional understanding of a healthy lifestyle and life expectancy, the quality of life or the lack of diseases.

It is generally accepted that the rejection of smoking and alcohol is the key to health, but this is not so. This does not mean that you should encourage bad habits, but let's be honest: people who smoke do not get sick more often than those who do not smoke. The exception is severe cases of dependence. But alcohol or cigarettes itself are not the main cause of mortality.

Proper nutrition is also not a guarantee of health. If a person has already seriously ill, then the exclusion of harmful products, the refusal of smoking and physical activity will not ensure recovery. It can become easier for a short time, but in the long run, harsh prohibitions can only worsen the condition. And this surprises many. After all, from childhood they are inspired: "Eat useful, do not smoke, go in for sports - and you will be healthy." And if you do everything right, but are you worshiping?

What then? So this is not the point. Wikipedia also mentions behavioral habits. It is generally accepted that they can be formed by an effort of will: to get up early, do exercises, show it still strictly according to the schedule. But habits are a consequence of a person’s internal state. If a person wakes up every morning without strength, in stress, in alarm - neither a healthy breakfast nor a run will help him.

On the contrary, any imposed “correctness” will irritate, cause even greater stress. If we talk about what really improves health and quality of life, then the main thing is working with their own conditions. We often confuse the cause and investigation: we think that the right habits will lead us to good health, but in fact, the opposite is true. Good health gives birth to healthy habits.

When a person is calm, easy, he will not compensate for his condition with harmful food, alcohol or smoking. He will intuitively choose what he really needs. You do not need to strive for a healthy lifestyle through efforts and prohibitions, more important a feeling of comfort and well -being. Ask yourself the question: “I'm good now? If not, what is bothering?

We are used to postponing “good” for later: strain today, tolerate a little more - and then it will become better. But tomorrow does not guarantee happiness. It should be here and now. If you feel bad, the body is trying to compensate for this. Food, alcohol is one of the most affordable ways. This is a quick way to change the condition. No need to demonize such things.

Of course, this is compensation, but in this case the fight against it will not lead to anything good. You will only create a new struggle and new disappointments. For years, people “observe” a healthy lifestyle and remain unhappy. They want something, but not.
