Levitan biography report
The State Tretyakov Gallery Levitan’s life path cannot be called successful: his childhood years were difficult due to the loss of parents, during the years of study, he felt a cruel need. The painter, hungry, who did not have a roof over his head, he never betrayed his desire to become an artist. The selfless devotion of Isaac Ilyich Levitan was expressed in art in the so -called "landscape", which embodied the soul of Russian nature.
His father, Ilya Abramovich, who once studied at the Rabbinsky School, not having achieved a prominent position in the Jewish community, went to serve on the railway-a translator, a controller, a cashier. Due to the lack of funds to pay for the education of children in elementary school, the father of the family had to independently engage in their upbringing.
In the hope of fixing a plighting marital status, Ilya Abramovich decided to change his profession and took up an independent study of foreign languages - French and German, which helped him later get a translator. The Levitans in the years moved to Moscow, hoping that there the children of which were four would receive a decent and high -quality education. The father took attention to the desire of his sons Abel and Isaac to learn painting.
Isaac entered the Moscow School of painting, sculpture and architecture early at thirteen years old. He began in the full class of the most popular Moscow artist, master of satirical genre Vasily Grigoryevich Perov. Not only young Levitan took his teachers with pity, when the Board of Trustees saved him from training fees or recommended Prince Dolgorukov General General General Governor.
The observation and poetry of the nature of the young artist, the love of the image of nature were close to the pioneer of the lyrical landscape Alexei Savrasov, who lured the best student to himself. Since the year, Levitan has been listed in the workshop of a prominent Wanderer. The teacher identified Isaac, immediately noticing in it a great talent.
It was during the years of study that Levitan has a desire to learn to express his feelings in the paintings, awakened by the proximity of nature. After Savrasov was fired from the school for drunkenness, the students were presented to the new teacher - Vasily Polenov. In years, Isaac loses his parents in - mother, in - father and remains without a livelihood. The Levitan family broke up.
It was a difficult, almost unbearable time: the artist was starving, he had nowhere to live. At night, if you're lucky, Levitan was settled to sleep in the dusty attic of the school among canvases and boxes, and if not, he wandered around the night city or froze on the bench. In the year, the clearance was outlined: the collector Tretyakov Paul at the student exhibition was acquired by the canvas "Autumn Day.
Sokolniki ”is the only landscape of Levitan on which there is a person. However, the bright strip did not last long: after the Solovyovsky attempt on Alexander II, all Jews evicted from Moscow. Isaac Levitan.
